All players, young or old,
learners or more experienced, are very welcome to join the Band.
We have a main practice
session once a week, usually on a Thursday evening, at the Masonic Hall, The
Muirs, Kinross. (It is in fact every Thursday, with the exception of
the first Thursday of each month during the Winter, when we practice on the Monday evening
instead)
A typical practice starts
at around 6.30 pm, mainly for learners on the chanter or drums, then from
around 7.00 to 8.00 pm the pipe corps tend to do chanter work, while the
drummers work on pads. And from around 8.00 till 9.00 pm, pipes
and drums come out, the Band tunes up, and plays a few selections together,
concentrating usually on competition tunes for the next season.

In addition to the main practice
above, both pipers and drummers have an additional practice on chanters or
pads through the week.
This usually takes place upstairs
in the Salutation Hotel ("The Sal") on a Tuesday evening for chanter, and
usually a Monday evening for drum pads. (although this can vary)
